Your autumn in numbers

Under Paperwork → Autumn in numbers (and on a card by the farm under Invoices & settings) is a report on the farm's last autumn, computed from the farm's own Fjárvís history — slaughter data back to 2007, weighings and mating records. Nothing has to be entered in the app for it to appear: it exists for every subscribed farm, whether or not it has opened LAMB before.

The figures sit beside the group — the other subscribed farms, pooled anonymously. No farm is named or ranked; the only thing said about your standing is "better than N % of farms".

What is on the page

Section What it shows Why it matters
Last autumn Lambs slaughtered, how many fell under 13.5 kg carcass weight (where the slaughterhouses pay no premium), mean carcass weight, median age at slaughter — and the split between ram lambs and ewe lambs. Lambs under the cliff are money left on the table. Your number beside the group's median says whether that is a lot or a little.
Year by year The share under the cliff every autumn since 2007, your farm and the group on one line. Years with fewer than 20 lambs are not drawn. The current autumn is marked — figures so far, not final. Whether the farm has moved up or down, independent of the season (the group shows the season).
Your dressing percentage Carcass as a share of live weight on this farm, beside the group's average and range — and the live weight that is 90 % safe over the cliff here. The same live weight dresses out differently from farm to farm; the group spans almost ten percentage points. This is the figure the app's carcass estimate uses for the farm.
Your gestation The median gestation and the window half of the lambings fall in, beside the national 145 days and the range across farms in the group. The app's lambing alert is calibrated to this, not to the national figure — farms differ by days.
EUROP grades Share of lambs in each conformation (E–P) and fat class (1–5), your farm beside the group. Where your lambs land on the price grid.

"From the farm's history" or "national value"

The dressing percentage and the gestation are computed from the farm's history once it is long enough — 500 live/carcass weight pairs for dressing, 200 mating records with a lambing for gestation. Until then the figure is marked national value and the app uses that. The farm's own numbers take over by themselves once there is enough.

A new farm, or a farm with a new settlement number, has no slaughter data yet. The page then says so in plain words and shows the national values — yours replace them after the first autumn.

When is it computed?

Every night, from Fjárvís. The date is at the top of the page. A farm that has just subscribed sees the report after the next night.
