Moving from LAMB2 to LAMB4¶
LAMB2 closes on Tuesday 3 November 2026. LAMB2 is an old system that no longer meets today's security requirements, so it is being closed in agreement with RML and Advania. Your data in Fjárvís is safe and appears in LAMB4 automatically.
This guide is for Icelandic LAMB2 users; the Icelandic page is the one farmers are sent.
First · Send your LAMB2 records to Fjárvís¶
Records in the LAMB2 app on your phone that have not been sent to Fjárvís (weighings, births) must be sent from LAMB2 to Fjárvís the usual way before Tuesday 3 November.
Anything not in Fjárvís does not move over
Once LAMB2 closes nothing can be sent from it. LAMB4 reads your data from Fjárvís.
Groups do not need sending: you fetch them into LAMB4 yourself, see Your groups from LAMB2.
Route A · I have never signed in to LAMB4¶
1 · Create an account on the web¶
Go to is.lambehf.com/stofna-adgang.
- Choose the "Þegar með LAMB áskrift" (already a LAMB subscriber) tab.
- Enter the kennitala the LAMB subscription is registered to. The name fills in by itself.
- Enter your email. It becomes your LAMB4 username.
- Choose a password of at least 6 characters and press "Stofna aðgang".
2 · Install the LAMB app¶
Search for LAMB on Google Play and install it, or open is.lambehf.com/saekja on the phone.
iPhone
The app is Android only for now. LAMB4 works fully on the web, on a computer or in the phone's browser.
3 · Sign in to the app¶
Use the same email and password as in step 1.
Route B · I already have LAMB4¶
1 · Sign in with your email¶
LAMB4 signs you in with your email address, not your Fjárvís or LAMB2 username.
2 · Forgotten password¶
- Press "Gleymt lykilorð?" under the sign-in, in the app or on the web.
- Enter your email and press "Senda endurstillingarpóst".
- Open the email from LAMB and follow the link (check spam).
- Choose a new password. It works at once on the web and in the app. The link works only once.
Your groups from LAMB2¶
Groups made in the LAMB2 app do not move over by themselves. On the web: Hópar → "Sækja úr LAMB 2" → tick the groups → "Setja … hópa inn".
The button arrives in the next few days
Farmers will be emailed when it is live (LAMB-709).
Animals no longer on the farm are left out and listed. A group whose name already exists in LAMB4 is not imported again, so pressing the button twice is harmless.
